Kitchen & Garden
Health minds
+ healthy bodies
We’re proud to have our own kitchen, vegetable garden, composter, pizza oven, greenhouse, and even chickens (for fresh eggs!) — all part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen and Garden Program (SAKG). This unique, Australian-designed initiative is all about learning by doing. Through hands-on experiences, your child will learn how to grow, harvest and cook fresh food — and most importantly, how to enjoy it.
But it’s not just about gardening and cooking — it’s about nurturing curiosity, teamwork and independence. Most of all, it helps children build real-life skills, make healthy choices and feel the pride that comes from sharing a meal they’ve grown and prepared themselves.
From Garden to Table
From Years 3 to 6, students join regular kitchen and garden sessions led by the kitchen specialist. Working in small groups, they are introduced to growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing food.
- Learn practical skills they can implement in their daily lives
- Build confidence, teamwork and problem-solving abilities
- Try new foods and recipes, expanding their tastes
- Experience the joy of creating and sharing food together
- Develop respect for nature, animals and sustainability
The program supports children to feel proud of what they create and confident to try new things. These learning experiences stay with children long after they leave the garden.

and see it in action!
Current families are warmly invited to join a session and get involved — it’s a wonderful way to see the program in action and support your child’s learning.
Prospective families, we welcome you to book a school tour and discover how our kitchen and garden program brings learning to life.
